Red Demekin Gashapon

This Red Demekin goldfish ( sometimes called a ''telescope'' or, quite wrongly '' Red Moor'', by definition Moors can only be black in colour  ) is one of the amazingly detailed and realistic resin Gashapon Goldfish models from Japan. It is about two to three inches long. These items are fanatically collected. They are produced in limited edition sets and are sold in vending capsules or sealed boxes that only indicate the set and not the individual model on them. Therefore there is an element of luck as to which one you get, as with all such collectors items some items from the set are relatively common and some, the so-called ‘chase items’, are only released in small numbers and remain elusive, desirable and expensive. A couple of editions of Goldfish, some tropical fish and other animals have been released. Most of the hundreds of sets released are based round science fiction subjects.
